The Woven Plate AKAME X HMM is the result of a three-way collaboration between the AKAME restaurant, HMM Design, and Spring Pool Glass. AKAME is a renowned fusion eatery in southern Taiwan, specializing in wood-fire grilling, seasonal native ingredients, unique herbs and spices, and wild vegetables.
The Woven Plate draws inspiration from the shell flower woven baskets of Taiwan’s indigenous peoples, transforming the woven layers into glass to present a splendid piece of tableware through exquisite glass craftsmanship. Made from recycled glass, this plate can be fully recycled and reused, as Spring Pool Glass turns the charm of the circular economy into dishes of plenty on the dining table through its expertise. The unique woven pattern challenges the highest level of difficulty in glassmaking, while also highlighting the beauty of the glass.
With a diameter of 16 cm, this compact and versatile plate can be stacked to save space. The woven-pattern tableware blends cultural traditions and craftsmanship into practical dishes. It represents inclusiveness and giving, anticipation and blessing.
