Keiji Ashizawa
Graduated from Yokohama National University (Department of Architecture and Building Science) in 1996, Keiji began his career as an architect and honed his craft within the collective of cabinet and lighting designers Super Robot. In 2005, he founded his eponymous agency, Keiji Ashizawa Design. In 2011, to support the reconstruction efforts of local communities after the great earthquake in eastern Japan, he founded a public workshop, Ishinomaki Laboratory. In 2014, Ishinomaki Laboratory became a furniture brand. Keiji’s activities cover a wide range of fields, including collaborations with international furniture brands. Keiji’s philosophy, "Honest Design," for architecture, renovation, lighting, and furniture design projects, has led to the development of works recognized worldwide.
