RIKI CLOCK features twelve figures which are slightly bigger and needles which are in splendid harmony with the length and thickness. LEMNOS always combines the ease of reading with a simple design.

LEMNOS ( RIKI WATANABE )

RIKI WATANABE (1911-2013), THE DESIGNER
Riki Watanabe was born in 1911 in Tokyo, Japan. He founded his own studio Riki Watanabe Design Office in 1949. He created many iconic furnitures during the post war era when Japan was running out of raw materials.
AN OLD MANUFACTURE
First the name of Lemnos. It was chosen by Hiroshi Takata in reference to the Greek island Lemnos, home of God Hephaistos, God of craftsmen. Lemnos was a brass and metal manufacture before working with Seiko Clock co., ltd. (the well-known clocks and watches SEIKO) in 1966. They supplied the mechanisms and other pieces to Seiko.
In 1988 Lemnos started developing his own products with a unique and original design.
CRAFTSMANSHIP AND DESIGN
All products are thouroughly made by high skilled craftsmen in Japan. The materials are highlighted to offer innovative and timeless clocks. « A clock not only indicates time, it is a masterpiece of craftsmenship and design. It is not like a fading fashion, it is timeless.» H. Takata.
