"Birdhouse" by the Japanese designer Yuichi Nara, edited by Lemnos.

The Birdhouse Clock is a cuckoo clock that tells the time with a lovely sound and the murmur of a brook.
The form of a simple birdhouse with a triangular roof was made by assembling basswood plywood.

The numeric font on the clock can be seen clearly even with its modest style, and the metal hands become an accent.

An intelligent light sensor built into the clock will automatically turn off the cuckoo’s movement when it is dark so as not to disturb you at night. She will then wake you up as the morning sunlight enters your room.

LEMNOS ( YUICHI NARA )

YUICHI NARA, THE DESIGNER
Yuichi Nara was born in Tokyo in 1977. He graduated in Architecture before going to Italy where he founded studio 241 Design with the Architect Federico Traverso. Once back in Japan, he founded the Noto Design Office.
AN OLD MANUFACTURE
First the name of Lemnos. It was chosen by Hiroshi Takata in reference to the Greek island Lemnos, home of God Hephaistos, God of craftsmen. Lemnos was a brass and metal manufacture before working with Seiko Clock co., ltd. (the well-known clocks and watches SEIKO) in 1966. They supplied the mechanisms and other pieces to Seiko.
In 1988 Lemnos started developing his own products with a unique and original design.
CRAFTSMANSHIP AND DESIGN
All products are thouroughly made by high skilled craftsmen in Japan. The materials are highlighted to offer innovative and timeless clocks. « A clock not only indicates time, it is a masterpiece of craftsmenship and design. It is not like a fading fashion, it is timeless.» H. Takata.
