Brass is a material used from a long time in Japan for architecture, vessels, art and notably to adorn buddhist altars. It is indeed a material resistant to corrosion and to abrasion. Its elegant and bright color gets deeper over time.
Oji Masanori (Oji & Design) is a Japanese designer who took an interest to Futagami to discover the brass work. Then he suggested to design a series of pieces inspired by the stars and the galaxies...
He is also deeply involved in the expansion and promoting of Japanese crafts.
The brass trivet "Star" is part of a series inspired by stars and galaxies, designed by Oji Masanori for Futagami. Simple and compact with a raw form of casting that leaves a unique sand effect on the surface, this trivet will be part of your kitchen or dining room decor.
The bottle opener "Waku" meaning frame in Japanese, was designed by Oji Masanori for Futagami. A pure aesthetic pleasure for its original shape with an open center as a frame. Outside has a satinated finish unlike the inside that has a raw finish with a sand effect. It is a beautiful and useful object that could be left in a kitchen or on a table.
