JAPANESE OBJECTS IN BRASS

Founded in Tokyo in 2009, PICUS designs everyday objects in brass: keyrings, bookends, bookmarks, or writing accessories. Each piece is made in Japan, with special care given to the materials and the natural aging of the metal. Designed to last and develop a patina over time, PICUS objects combine simplicity, usefulness, and Japanese craft heritage.

Picus, founded in 2009 in Tokyo, specializes in the creation of brass design objects for everyday use. The brand’s creator affectionately calls his products “antiques of the future,” hoping they embody many years of memories.

Each brass piece is carefully crafted by skilled artisans in Japan. The deepest wish of the brand’s creator is to give users the satisfaction of an object with timeless design.

Brass and copper naturally develop a patina over time. Oil and air will naturally darken this piece and make it shinier. This is part of its natural beauty.

If brass pieces are exposed to water or moisture for long periods, the metal may change color more quickly or become stained. Thus, each piece passes through the years without deteriorating but rather evolves and develops a patina through use.
